  1. Hi Angelica! Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey. I am so excited to see that you have joined our programme this summer. I'm really looking forward to blogging with you and to learning more about Australia as we go!

I have been really lucky to have had the chance to travel to Australia a few times in the past but I have never seen a kangaroo in the wild. Have you?

Wishing you a great week. Enjoy your last few days at Pt England for the year and I'll see you online this summer :)

    Cheers,
    Rachel

  2. G'Day Angelica,
My name is Tania and I am a Manaiakalani Outreach Facilitator - I work in lots of different schools with teachers and learners who, like you, are using chromebooks for their learning and blogs to share their learning. I have been emailing with Rachel and she has told me all about The Summer Learning Journey, it's great that you have made a start. Australia sounds like the perfect place to visit with your brother living there. What part of Australia does he live in? I have family that live on the Gold Coast, I like visiting them there and I love the beaches and parks. Keep up the great researching, reading, writing, creating and sharing. Enjoy your summer holiday.

  3. Gidday Angelica!

I'm Mark, a teacher working for the Summer Learning Journey with Rachel. It is awesome to see you've chosen Australia! I lived on the Gold Coast a long time ago, but I still remember it.

I think you are right about the quiet, but I'll tell you that the cities are really really really noisy and busy. Especially Sydney. People everywhere!

On my first evening there in Sydney I was staying in a backpackers hostel and we were having a BBQ on the roof, the sun was setting and it was a beautiful purple and orange sunset, and there in the distance, flying across the city skyline, were a group of fruit bats (I had never seen bats before!) It was absolutely beautiful and I will always remember it!

I hope you're having an awesome holiday and look forward to your next post!

    Mark

  4. Hello Angelica
I am a student from Panmure Bridge school it's great to see you doing the summer learning journey. I've always found Australia interesting because even though they are New Zealand's neighbors, I don't know a lot about them. Keep up the awesome work Angelica!

I've been to Australia once for a few days, and while I can't provide as much information as your brother, I can say that it's a wonderfully diverse and beautiful country, full of wonderful locals and animals.
